System reagent for the quantitative determination of a-Amylase in human serum and urine on Beckman Coulter AU analyzers. α-Amylase (EC3.2.1.1) is found primarily in the pancreases and salivary glands. Elevated serum levels are associated with acute pancreatitis and other pancreatic disorders as well as mumps and bacterial parotitis.
